My philosophy is that everyone is unique and the human mind is amazing. My approach to working with people impacted by extreme stress and trauma is to listen carefully and help the person debrief or unpack the experience(s) encountered. When appropriate and possible, I gain information about the person and history that can help me adjust the work to the needs of the person. Different approaches are useful to help individuals manage stress based on the person's personality and style of handling difficulties. Over the years I have gained specific methods based on training with Army Vets at the Brockton VA. In addition I have been trained in the Victims Of Violence approach. My style of assessing and treating people is an integration of relational, psychodynamic, systemic and cognitive/behavioral teachings. I meditate and practice yoga daily and encourage people to utilize similar tools for managing stress and anxiety when appropriate.
