As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am well aware of the needs facing our healthcare workers. More than ever, I see first-hand the pressures and difficulties that frontline workers are trying to navigate. It is hard for healthcare workers to focus on helping others when they are struggling with internal issues (e.g., anxiety of their own) and/or external issues (e.g., work issues, family health, relationships). My style is to identify needs and work in a preventative, solution-based framework. Helping healthcare workers tolerate uncertainty and deal with grief are necessary in this burnout climate. I am an experienced, trustworthy and dependable licensed counselor who feels deeply about being of service. I use thoughtful professional judgment, am approachable, and am a positive presence. I worked as an intensive outpatient therapist. I was responsible for the comprehensive management and coordination of care for adults and adolescents in crisis, namely trauma and drug/alcohol issues. I consulted and collaborated with a team of doctors, psychiatrists and other therapists to create wellness plans and facilitate follow-up care. Along with providing individual counseling to patients, I worked with family members towards continuity of care. I also ran daily educational groups that focused on issues such as social/emotional concerns, empowerment, resiliency, and coping skills. This work allowed me to cultivate a critical database of knowledge in keeping clients safe. Today more than ever, I find myself using my intensive outpatient therapist skills.
