My training and experience has centered around youth, families, cultural sensitivity, and trauma. As a narrative therapist, I believe that people are not problems. I believe that through intentional skill building and reflection we can create stories of ourselves and our families that are woven together with our values, hopes, and knowledge. My work is also informed by feminist and queer theory, by restorative practices, and other forms of resistance. I show up in therapy with deep caring, authenticity, and active allyship. I center your story in our work together and will seek consent before sharing my own reflections and stories or sharing resources. In any moment, we are all doing the best we can with what we have. It is our work to collaborate in transforming and shifting what we have so that we can do "the better" we are looking for. As a parent, and having spent years working with multi-stressed caregivers, I can say that parenting is incredibly hard and a test of our strengths. I also believe that it can be a source of incredible joy. As a member of the queer community, I hold that family is something that we define for ourselves and I do not hold a limiting definition in my work.
